Information About Reigate
Reigate is located in the South East of England in Surrey. The borough of Reigate has the largest population of any of the Surrey districts. Like most of the UK it is experiencing a large growth in those of retirement age.
It is located just South of the beautiful North Downs and is very close to London and a 50 minute car ride from Brighton. It has a population of approximately 130k and is home to a number of businesses including insurance giant E Sure and hygiene company Kimberley Clarke.
The major draw of Reigate is its excellent links to London, making it a prime commuter destination.It is a great place to live in its right as well though.
The town is surrounded by green belt land. A few miuntes drive will see you out of the urban environment and into the beautiful North Downs.
Living in Reigate
Reigate is a desirable place to live. Its a historic town. Most of its buildings date back to the Victorian and Edwardian eras. There’s even an ancient castle with beautiful gardens open to the public.
Reigate claimed a place in Sunday Times Top 101 places to live. The report cited a growing band of independent boutiques and cafes as a prime reason why its so attractive. It has over 30 restaurants making it a destination town. People travel just for the vast array of quality restaurants. Its also a great place to bring up kids. Five of the nine schools in Reigate have been given an excellent rating by Ofsted. This hasn’t gone un-noticed by parents, with demand for the small supply of places creating a supply shortage.
