Its also only a few minutes from the M25 orbital motorway, opening up the whole of outer London by car. It also has great train links. The most important, arguably, for most commuters would be the London to Brighton line, running from Redhill railway station. This station also opens up towns further West via the The North Downs Line to Reading.
Of course its important to recognise that not only are you eel connected to the rest of the South East of England but also to the rest of the world. Gatwick airport is a mere seven mile car trip away.
Living in Redhill
Redhill is very close to Reigate. Each retains its own flavour but Reigate appears to be more popular. Unfortunately alot of Redhill’s older buildings were bulldozed 50 years ago. They were replaced with 60’s and 70’s houses less blessed with character. The town centre has a tired look. This has fortunately motivated the local council to focus efforts on revamping and regenerating the town centre.
If you live here your connectedness pays dividends. The average commuter travels only 8.5 miles to work each day.
The average property price per square foot is in the region of £10 per square foot, approximately £60- less than neighbouring houses in Reigate. This is probably diue to the slightly less upmarket feel. However a bonus of living in Redhill are its fantastic transport connections and better facilities, leisure centres etc. when compared to Reigate.
